The aim of this symposium is to bring together mathematicians and physics to discuss forward and inverse time-harmonic wave scattering by diffraction gratings with local perturbations. Topics of this symposium will focus on but not limited to: well-posdness of forward models, new radiation conditions, numerical simulation of diffraction phenomena such as integral equation method, inite element-based algorithms and RCWA method etc, optimal design and other inverse problems including detection of defects.
