Monotonicity and Convexity in Inverse Coefficient Problems

Organizers of this minisymposium are

Inverse coefficient problems for time-harmonic wave-type equations and for their transient and stationary variants lead to challenging highly non-linear and ill-posed inverse problems. The recent years have lead to new approaches for overcoming the non-linearity by exploiting a certain monotonicity and convexity structure with respect to special orders such as the Loewner order. The minisymposium focuses on innovative contributions in this direction, considering both theoretical results and numerical algorithms.
