To enable an efficient numerical treatment of boundary layer phenomena, these effects are often modeled as nonstandard boundary conditions, giving rise to new questions on the well-posedness and reliable simulation of those PDEs. For vectorial PDEs even seamingly harmless BCs such as mixed and anistropic BCs demand the development of new theoretical tools for their numerical analysis. In this minisymposium we aim to discuss such topics including the mathematical modeling, theoretical tools for their (numerical) analysis and the efficient computational simulation of the PDEs.
